FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT FLOORBALL GRIPBANDS:

WHAT GRIPBAND SHOULD I CHOOSE FOR MY FLOORBALL STICK?

Which gripband you should choose for your floorball stick is highly individual and depends on how you want the stick to feel in your hands. Your choice also depends on how much your hands sweat and how much moisture absorption you need. The weight of the gripband can also be a factor worth considering.

Our most popular gripband is MONSTER/MONSTER2, a high-quality gripband with exceptional grip and long-lasting durability. The gripband offers outstanding tackiness and provides a direct and secure grip in every game situation. In addition, it features excellent moisture absorption and performs well during intense play and with sweaty hands.

HOW LONG ARE ZONE'S GRIPBANDS?

All ZONE gripbands are 200 centimeters long and fit every stick in the range.

This means you do not need to worry about whether your floorball stick is too long or too short for your gripband.

ARE THERE GRIPBANDS FOR DIFFERENT PLAYING STYLES IN FLOORBALL?

All gripbands are designed with the same goal in mind: to improve your grip on both the stick and the ball. Some gripbands are lighter, some are thinner, others are tackier, and some offer greater moisture absorption. When choosing a gripband, it is generally more about personal preference than playing style. The best approach is to try different gripbands and find the one that feels most natural to you. A good tip is to try a teammate’s newly wrapped gripband to get a feel for different options.

Technical players who rely on quick wrist movements, dribbling, and precise passing often prefer a thinner gripband. The thinner design provides a more direct connection to the shaft, resulting in enhanced feel, control, and responsiveness.

Players who take a lot of shots and play an offensive game often prefer a grip with a high level of tackiness. A tacky grip provides a secure feel in the hands and helps prevent the floorball stick from rotating during the shooting motion.

For all-around players, the key is finding the right balance between comfort, grip, and moisture absorption. The ZONE range includes several gripbands that are well suited for this purpose.

WHICH GRIPBAND ABSORBS THE MOST SWEAT?

MONSTER/MONSTER2 and SUPERSTICKY are the two gripbands in our range that offer the best moisture absorption.

These gripbands also perform exceptionally well for players who sweat heavily from their hands. In fact, the grip can improve slightly with a small amount of moisture on the surface, helping maintain a secure and comfortable feel throughout the game.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REPLACE MY GRIP BAND ON A FLOORBALL STICK?

How often you should replace your gripband is highly individual and depends on several factors, including how much and how often you play.

When you notice that the grip no longer feels the way it used to, or that your floorball stick starts to slip and rotate in your hands, it is usually a sign that the tackiness of the grip is beginning to wear off.

It may also be time to rewrap your floorball stick when the gripband starts to look worn and shows clear signs of use.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE GRIPBAND ON A FLOORBALL STICK?

1. Unwrapping the old gripband:

1. Start by preparing a new gripband and a pair of scissors.

2. First, remove the rubber ring located at the end of the gripband.

3. Use the pair of scissors or a knife to release the tape located under the rubber-ring. You do not need to save the tape, you will get a new one with your new gripband.

4. When you have loosened the tape from the grip, it is time to start unwrapping the gripband.

Note: Sometimes the glue on the backside of the gripband may get stuck to the shaft of the floorball stick. We recommend using a knife or another sharp object to carefully remove any adhesive residue that remains attached to the shaft. This way, it will be much easier for you to remove the old gripband without ripping it apart.

2. Preparing your new gripband:

1. When you have unwrapped your old gripband, you should check your shaft and make sure that no glue residue is stuck to the shaft. Having no residue on the shaft is important for a better result when wrapping your new gripband.

2. Take the new gripband out of the packaging and unroll it to its full length.

Note: Our gripbands have two plastic films. One on the front where you hold the floorball stick. And one on the back which is the adhesive side that you use to wrap the gripband to the shaft.

3. Remove the plastic film located on the FRONT of the gripband. Let the one on the back be for now.

4. Start by CAREFULLY and gradually removing the plastic film from the BACK. The adhesive is very strong and removing the whole plastic film makes it harder to get the gripband the way you want it. Working gradually will also give you better control during the wrapping process.

5. Now you can start wrapping your gripband.

Note: How you want to wrap your gripband is up to you, there is no right or wrong.

3. Wrapping your new gripband:

1. Start by wrapping the gripband around the end cap of the shaft. That is the hardest part of the wrapping. Make sure the first two wraps are pulled tight, as this helps the gripband attach securely to the shaft. You will need to apply firm tension throughout the process to achieve the best possible result and prevent creases from forming.

2. Continue wrapping the gripband down the shaft and continuously stretch it to prevent creases.

Note: You can decide yourself how stiff or soft you want your grip to feel depending on how hard or loose you wrap your gripband.

The amount of material that needs to be cut off depends on the length of your stick. This is because our gripbands are made to fit all our stick models.

4. Finishing steps in the wrapping of the gripband:

1. Once you have reached the desired grip position and made your final wrap with the gripband, make a diagonal cut with your scissors. This will help create the straightest possible finish.

2. Take the finishing tape included with your new gripband and apply it to the end of your gripband, that is, the end where you finished your wrapping. This is to prevent the end from loosening but also for a tidier finish.

3. Roll the rubber ring in place over the piece of tape to make sure that it holds in place.

ALL DONE!

HOW CAN I MAKE MY GRIPBAND LAST LONGER?

Store your gripband in a dry environment. If your gripband gets wet from water or sweat, allow it to air dry before placing your stick in its stick bag. This helps prevent moisture from remaining on the gripband and affecting the adhesive or tackiness.

Keep the grip clean and free from dust and dirt that can accumulate during play and storage. Wipe the gripband with a lightly damp cloth from time to time to help keep it fresh and tacky.

Avoid exposing the gripband to excessively warm environments, such as a hot car or prolonged direct sunlight. High temperatures can affect both the material and the adhesive.
