MISSION

We are entering a new era of our brand. The world is changing quicker than ever before, and as a youth brand in the sports industry we need to improve. Our goal is to be the pioneer in our sport where sustainable actions are considered, valued & implemented through-out our entire company. We can’t do it all for now, but for now a lot has already taken action as you can read below. This is an important focus. For our customers. For us. For this planet.

DESIGN PROCESS

This is where it all starts. In our minds. On our workshops. Inside our walls. With a sustainable vision, leadership & mindset new ideas starts to flow. We have started to think in a new way. We believe that we can find a financial way for our brand by taking care of the environment. A long-term idea where brand value, customer relations & increased sales can go hand in hand by evaluating all steps in our design process.

FACTORIES

We have had demands on our factories since we started this journey in 2008 where the REACH laws were implemented in Sweden to reduce chemicals in goods, but for now we have taken new steps on demanding our factories to improve. We are pushing our partners harder in terms of production, material choices, sampling, water consumption & shipping to improve our entire workflow with our factories and we are choosing partners after how they perform. By such an effort, sustainable items are now added in almost all product groups.

PRODUCTION

Some items are easier to adjust than others. It does not mean that it is impossible, but it will take time. Production of textiles is now easier to control compared to production of carbon shafts. New materials, machines & factory standards provide major improvements where our demands for a long-term production line comes to reality. We have moved more production closer to Sweden, or inside Sweden, to have a better control, shorter lead times, better freight alternatives & less waste.

MATERIALS

This is a big area, and we have already been able to swap to better alternatives in our products. New takes are BCI cotton in our piquet shirts, recycled polyester in our new bags, winter jackets & bottles, ecological cotton in our t-shirts & 100% recycled PE plastic in our white PE blades. As mentioned before, bottles, sublimated items & blades are already made from better alternatives than before. Are we satisfied? No. We need to act on all items, and we are working hard to ensure a better material composition on all product groups.

PACKAGING

Is a plastic bag good or bad? Is carton the better alternative? Hard to say and it depends on where your ear’s at. We have chosen to reduce plastic in our packages and specifically to produce less new plastic. Instead, we are working more with paper labels & packages, reducing unnecessary packaging and we have added bags or cartons to be used multiple times. In this area, we believe that huge work can be done and this is where we focus a lot right now.

DELIVERIES

Being a worldwide sports brand comes with challenges. Production in Asia, assembling in Sweden & distribution to 50 countries. Our goal has been to reduce air freights in our import area, and as a result, we have been able to reduce the air freight percentage on pre-order goods from 26% 2020 to 3% today. Our goal is to work entirely without putting our goods in the air but the pandemic and the congestion situation has forced us to use air a couple of times, to be honest. Hopefully, better planning and earlier production can reject this behavior to work solely with boat & train.

RECYCLING

This is not only about us, but about the entire sport. At Renew Group we have taken actions to recycle all our waste during 2024 and we are also forcing our customers, both partners & end customers, to do the same. A small part of the total sustainable project, but an easy task to implement right away. Hopefully, just adding knowledge to our players that a broken stick should be divided between waste & plastic is a good start.

TRANSPORTATION

We have gone fully electric on 5 of our companies 8 cars, and the rest are long-range hybrids for our salesmen. We are taking less physical meetings with our factories less by air due to the pandemic, the improvement in digital meeting assets but also because we believe that we should only travel when necessary. Do we still fly a couple of times every year? Yes, we do. On areas where we believe that physical meetings can improve our total sustainable approach, one journey by air can still create a better total value for our brand, and for the planet.

BUSINESS

Are we in this by ourselves? Are we doing it for our brand? No. The sustainable project is also created to force our business to become better. For the floorball world to improve their actions and to ensure that floorball players can enjoy this game on the entire planet many years ahead. We have been on the forefront in many ways the last decade, and now it’s time to shine in a sustainable way.

PROJECTS

We have already created projects the last years where the collaboration with Swedish clothing company Myrorna has been a smart way. We gathered 300 sticks from customers, stores & countries and Re-Made them to mint condition by adding new blades, smart recoveries, push tested and approved. 2nd hand sticks were sold to customers once again without throwing them away, for a better cause. A new vintage program is added online called Re-Made where customers & stores can help to spread our sport, use floorball products once again & decrease unnecessary consumption.
